Organ harvesters come up short Nicelli was pretty crude in his reconstruction of the bodies after removing bone and tissue. Common repair materials such as plastic pipe and screws were used to replace leg bones. To add insult to injury, Nicelli claims that Mastromarino said he doctored the paperwork to make the donors younger and more recently deceased. This slowly unfolding story, with its overtones of mob involvement and reverberations from diseased tissue, is sure to provide many more shocking details about the illegal organ harvesting operation.
