Oil Prices Fall Again, Despite Unsettled Middle East How much this price drop affects the life of the average American remains to be seen, as there are a variety of factors beyond the price per barrel that influence how much we pay at the pump. Naturally, the price of oil has consequences that reach far beyond what we pay to fill our tanks, as can be seen by increasing food prices and numerous other day-to-day matters. Last year, the cost of heating during the winter reached record heights, with many families feeling the pinch. However, some officials are optimistic that this winter will see more affordable heating prices.
