Now Canadians bear the brunt of Taliban Taliban, later, claimed the responsibility for the dastardly attack. Qari Yousaf Ahmadi, who claimed to be a spokesman for Taliban affairs in southern Afghanistan, said the bomber who targeted troops in Kandahar was an Afghan from the same province. The most astonishing part of the attack was that it came a day after Nato declared an end to a two-week offensive aimed at driving Taliban militants out of safe havens in the same area and in which 500 Talibanis were reported killed. The NATO operation may have been successful but the daring suicide attack is a reminder to the forces that Taliban may be down but certainly not out. Afghanistan may be a long grinding operation for the NATO forces but a necessity for uprooting similar safe havens for the anti-humanity forces.
