New website creates awareness on Stem Cell Research A group called ‘Michigan Citizens for Stem Cell Research & Cures (MCSCRC has launched a new website www.stemcellresearchformichigan.com, to educate the public on various advantages of the embryonic stem cell research. This group is supported by the University of Michigan and it is working to convince the people that embryonic stem cell research is actually good for mankind. This group is creating awareness among the public on the importance of this embryonic stem cell research, as it is considered to be an effective solution in curing lethal diseases that cannot be treated with the current medical technologies. The group is also trying to clarify issues related to stem cell research, such as whether adult stem cells isolated from the placenta and umbilical cord is as effective as the one obtained from the embryo, for producing human clones. The Embryonic stem cell research has been criticized based on ethical issues surrounds this mew field of science. United States, recently invested heavily on developing embryonic stem cell research, in spite of the fact that civic groups across the United States, are opposing such researches programs, as they feel it is against religious faiths.
