Minelli Abuse Lawsuit Tossed Out Gest claimed Minelli beat him so badly during her much publicized alcoholic rages that he had to be hospitalized. He also claimed that he suffered recurring headaches due to the beatings. State Supreme Court Justice Jane Solomon granted Minelli's request to dismiss the case based on a medical expert's testimony that Gest's headaches were caused by a strain of herpes. Gest plans to appeal the ruling, stating that he has repeatedly tested negative for the virus. The couple married in New York in March 2002 and split in July 2003.
