Mel Gibson Sick of Being Liked

Nearly two months after Mel Gibson's drunk driving arrest during which he mouthed-off drunken anti-Jewish remarks, Gibson is stirring up controversy again.

In President George Bush's "home" state of Texas, Gibson screened an early version of his new film Apocalypto. After the screening at the film festival, Gibson drew comparisons between the end of Mayan civilization and the situation in Iraq.

Notable quotes:
"The percursors to a civilization that's going under are the same time and time again. What's human sacrifice if not sending guys off to Iraq for no reason?"

"I don't mean to be a doomsday guy, but the Mayan calendar does end in 2012 boys and girls. Have fun!"

Was he drunk? I don't know - but it's clear to me that Mel is over being popular.

Learn more about his upcoming movie here.
