Media Fails to Cover Upside to Global Warming How about cheaper goods from China, due to better shipping lanes? Or the increase in winter temperatures, that offset heating costs? Or areas of the world that will now get an extra growing season? These truths contrary to alarmist claims of doomsday are rarely heard. There may be benefits, but not for everyone in the world
From Scientific America

’Small changes in climate can cause wars, topple governments and crush economies already strained by poverty, corruption and ethnic conflict. A drought-induced famine is much more likely to trigger conflict in a place that is already impoverished and bereft of any cushion of physical or financial resources.’
India, Africa, SE Asia and the middle east are particularly vulnerable. And instability is not good to trade or political stability or security. And of course there would be a major refugee problem to deal with as people try to move to an area that offers a better future.
Much of the mid-west and SW of America are vulnerable to losing their grain and cattle incomes should drought become a persistent problem. Production could move to Canada or even Siberia, which would benefit those economies at he expense of the USA’s. It would lose income and also have to spend more to import.
Forecasting is obviously difficult, but it’s about time politicians started looking at the possible impacts.
