Kinky is as Kinky does Into this paradigm of status quo steps Kinky Friedman, a man who says what he believes. He is the type of man it would be nice to see in office. Much like Jesse Ventura, he is more in touch with "real" people...he forms his own opinions and maintains them. He is not a good politician but he is a good representative. The difference is clear. A good politician offends nobody because he hides behide carefully crafted acceptable views that are protected by party sanctions. A good representative offends many people because he forms his own views and follows them regardless of whether they are popular or not. Friedman will probably not be elected because he says too many things that offend too many different people. And that is a shame. I would much rather be represented by a man who forms his own beliefs and stays true to them than by someone who gets by simply by punching the party ticket.
