The Jungle Cruise Is Disney's Next Ride To Hit The Big Screen

Pirates of the Carribean? Awesome. The Haunted Mansion? Eh, not so great. Tower of Terror? Downright forgettable.

There has been quite the array of Disney theme park rides that have hit the movie screens, and now The Jungle Cruise is next. Will it have a strong following and be a good match for the famed pirates? I think that it has a fair chance.

The Jungle Cruise ride premiered as an opening day attraction at Disneyland in July of 1955. Since then, it has remained wildly popular, even in an age where technology is now more than a little advanced ahead of robot hippos.

The new movie has the potential to have a good plot, and is being embraced by some big production names.

The Hollywood Reporter says ""Smallville" showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar are in talks to write Jungle Cruise, an adventure movie and potential franchise that is being produced by David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman through their Mandeville Films label."
