Jane Fonda Stands By Lindsay Lohan Criticism Well seasoned acting veteran Jane Fonda has backed the recent criticisms this past summer of Lindsay Lohan's party lifestyle, mainly because she feels that the 20 year old actress needs to be more sheltered and supported in order to reach her fullest potential. Lohan was hotly criticized by James G. Robinson, the CEO of Morgan Creek Production, in July, when she continuously failed to show up on time to the set of "Georgia Rule", her upcoming movie also starring Fonda. In his letter to her, which was CCed to her manager, agent, personal assistant, and others, "We are well aware that your ongoing all-night, heavy partying is the real reason for your so-called exhaustion." From personal experience of watching Lohan on the set and in the tabloids, Fonda tends to agree. "I think every once in a while a very, very young person who is burning both ends of the candles needs to have somebody say, 'You know you're going to pay the piper -- you better slow down.' So I think it was good. She's in the magazines, so you always know what she's doing because you can just read about it in the tabloids. She parties all the time. ... And you know, she's young and she can get away with it. But, you know, it's hard after a while to party very hard and work very hard.I want to say to her, 'This is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. If you blow it, you don't get a second chance.'" Fonda has also stated that she wants to "wrap Lohan in cotton wool until she is emotionally mature enough to cope with the pressures and temptations which surround her." She says, "I just want to take her in my arms and hold her until she becomes grown-up. She's so young and she's so alone out there in the world in terms of structure and, you know, people to nurture her. And she's so talented. Oh my gosh she can access emotion like nothing. And she just makes me cry. She made me cry a lot and when she was on the set she was really good, it's going to be a good movie." A lot of people are also beginning to criticize Lohan's mom for being an "absent parent." Though she is almost constantly with Lindsay, the duo tend to share the same maturity level, and Dina Lohan has been known to turn away once or twice when Lindsay is stumbling around drunk at clubs at 2am.
