Is It A 9/11 Memorial Or Anti-Bush Testimonial? The following statements and timelines are inscribed in a publicly-funded 9/11 monument in which country? · “You don’t win battles of terrorism with more battles.” · “Congress questions why CIA and FBI didn’t prevent attacks.” · “Erroneous US air strike kills 46 Uruzgan civilians.” Guessing Iran, Syria or North Korea? Not even close. Try Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. – and just a stone’s throw from the state capital building, prominently displayed for all to commemorate the victims and contemplate the cause from a decidedly jaundiced point of view. In addition to the controversial assertions -- which are projected through its metallic ring shape onto the ground as the sun arcs its way through the day – the monument uncannily resembles a crescent, an enduring Muslim symbol. (Detailed illustrations can be found here.) Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, a Democrat who commissioned a 30-member panel to develop the memorial, called the project, “unique, bold, educational and unforgettable." To be sure, the sentiments expressed for the ages on the monument are bound to endure, but not for long if Republicans have their way. “The memorial is a permanent monument to the left's perceived failures of the Bush administration,” wrote Greg Patterson on his Espresso Pundit blog.
