Hungarian leader puts foot in mouth, bites down hard The Prime Minister was taped during a Socialist Party meeting gloating about winning the general election by falsifying the economic news. He was quoted as claiming they had lied "all the time." His ineptness was compounded by his refusal to resign or to address any of the internal security problems caused by the clumsy comments. Tension in Hungary was already running high over increases in taxes and university tuition. France had similar problems when it raised state fees last year. It appears that the Socialist hegemony in Europe uses public unrest as a means to control the population. Now that's the worst possible form of leadership. Reuters story here. French riots covered in Hungarian press here. Blogger News Network is advertiser-supported, and your visits to our advertisers help BNN to meet its expenses.
