Football Player Attempts Suicide The Dallas police report said that Owens told his friend "that he was depressed." A police attendant named Rick Watson said, "This is a high-profile person. We looked into it and we determined it is not a criminal offense. This a medical type of situation that occurred." A friend who called for help, "noticed that (his) prescription pain medication was empty and observed (Owens) putting two pills in his mouth." Famous for his silly antics and publicity stunts, Owens has been with the NFL for 11 years and signed onto the Dallas Cowboys in March. The hospital he was admitted to said that there is no Terrell owens staying there, and no teammates or Cowboys officials were seen entering the hospital late Tuesday night. Hospitals allow people under law to reserve the right to have their names blocked and their identity hidden from the public.
