Finally Leaders Publicly Defend Pope...

...instead of quaking in their boots, afraid to speak the truth, for fear of mad Muslims rioting and burning their regions, too.

"The head of Australia's 5.1 million-strong Catholic Church went as far as to say that violent reaction "justified one of Pope Benedict's main fears" about Islam," according to CNN.com. Cardinal George Pell said this showed "the link for many Islamists between religion and violence, their refusal to respond to criticism with rational arguments, but only with demonstrations, threats and actual violence."

Unsurprisingly, the CNN report went on to say that "local Muslims called Pell's comments "unhelpful", though no mention was made of the local Muslims saying that the comments were untrue.

Though, to be quite honest, the number of Western secular leaders offering support are slim indeed. Of course, it should be noted that many nations in the west are experiencing their own Islamic troubles, such as the rioting that France endured not too long ago. Like I said, quaking in their boots...
