Field of Dreams, Subject of Nightmares Austin, you see, is the unwilling victim of a custody battle and that, by itself is never easy on the child in the middle, but Monday night the normal tension involved in custody battles escalated to murder. The ball game was over and the family was on its way to their cars. All four of Austin's grandparents were there along with Austin's father, Brent Shands. Words between the family members got heated and when Austin's maternal grandmother (Patricia Noe) pointed an umbrella at his paternal grandfather (Jerry Shands) and was told to get that blankety-blank thing out of my face, the maternal grandfather (Samuel Noe) pulled out a five-shot revolver and started shooting. Monday night, Austin Shands lost two grandfathers, one grandmother (his father's mother) and saw his father taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. And all Austin wanted to do was play ball, go home and chill! The ballpark, by the way, is in Dandridge, Kentucky, not far from Knoxville -- it's known as the "Field of Dreams." That one young boy will remember it differently in his "dreams!" Blogger News Network is advertiser-supported, and your visits to our advertisers help BNN to meet its expenses. How ignorant can adults be?! If one's life is bitter, don't infect the child with hate. The then "Field of Dreams" is nothing more than a "Field of Bitter Sorrow." This inoccent child will forever correlate sports and MURDER. Let us not forget, that it is the innocence of a child that prolongs the existence of the human race...Enough said!
cool-ruler, the problem is the adults use the child as pawns in their own "battles." yes, standing on the outside looking in, it's easy to see. however, when you're in the midst of "battle" you lose focus on what's really important and who really gets hurt. this bar far doesn't justify what happened - it never will... and unfortunately, it will continue to happen... i guess if the parents cared enough about the child(ren) involved, then maybe the whole divorce process wouldn't be so messy...
Austin. May God bless you!
