Ethnic Games gone wrong

There are running jokes here in the U.S. about "softball guy". He is the one that wears baseball pants, puts the black under his eyes to reduce the glare, has a batting glove on each hand and another in his pocket and essentially does everything he can to look like a professional baseball, then goes out and plays slow pitch softball. Those jokes are quite mocking.
You see, softball guy doesn't seem to "get it" that his games, while diverting, really are not...all...that...important. Whereas professional sports forget who won the previous championship when the next one is won, these softball leagues pretty much forget who won the previous game the next night. But softball guy is out there screaming at his teammates for botching a play, getting wound up, yelling at the umpire and stewing over a lost game for a week.
Most people kind of think he is too intense. Fortunately, the Ethnic Games of China are putting it all in perspective for us. How much importance do you think they put on it to involve cross dressing in an attempt to win an event? At least softball guy doesn't do the gender bender routine...that we know of. Watch for him to take a cue. If you are watching a women's softball beer league game and they start going yard, maybe you too should check for Adams Apples. Just try and refrain from following the example of Zhaotong and calling in people with "blades and sticks" to chase away the other softball team.
Apparently, for the provinces of China and the ethnic monorities competing there, recreation is serious business.
