Ethics Bill Passed This would create a contracts data base that will make currently hard to track contracts such as defense easier. House Republican leaders hope to pass a second ethics bill as well. This second bill would change the House rules so that those federal funds we know as "pork" would have to be specifically listed in legislaton and also disclose the sponsors. Remember that "bridge to nowhere" in Alaska? Last I heard the bridge may be stopped because of rare marine life in the area. But maybe if our representatives knew that WE would know about their pet projects just maybe there would be fewer of them...other "bridges" that aren't built. Maybe there would be accountability. And just maybe if the money that was spent on tea pot museums and such, Congress could spend money where it is really needed. Here's a novel idea...maybe Congress wouldn't spend it at all!
