Computer OTS Software... is it secure? In these days of heightened homeland security, the necessity to share information between agencies is at an all time apex. Add to this, the problem of speed which OTS gives, and the gift of optimum software compatibility and communication, which OTS also has, it would seem the advantages would outweigh the disadvantages, right? At a gathering of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association in Arlington, Va., Vice Admiral Brown pointed out that the positive dimensions of these developments are accompanied by vulnerabilities that need to be addressed. She went on to say, "The dilemma is how to ensure security and confidentiality while not reducing the effectiveness of networks to warfighters.”How so indeed?
