Colleges to Focus on Teaching To me, the story really underscores the odd set of skills professors are required to have. From my experience, many delve into research and see teaching as an inconveniece (or a frustration exacerbated by bureaucracy, see Thomas Sowell). Others are great at communicating relevant concepts but don't contribute much to their fields. Perhaps there's some way to separate the two?
