Chicago gets Wal-Mart Just months after I leave the godforsaken city, Chicago finally gets a Wal-Mart on its low-income West Side. This will be great for the folks who live there, who typically have to shop at small, expensive specialty stores (or, as one woman in the story used to do, head out to the suburbs in search of a big-box retailer). In addition to and because of this money factor, these small stores often lead to ethnic tensions as well.
