Bye Bye Blair In an hour-long valedictory address to Labour's annual conference yesterday, Blair also gave a passionate defence of his political legacy and made clear that leaving office won't be easy. He refused to agree with the much quoted analysis that his foreign policy was responsible for increasing terrorism in the world. A revolt earlier this month by Labour MPs who want finance minister Gordon Brown as leader, forced Blair to announce he would resign within a year.
