With midterm elections coming up in only seven weeks, the Bush administration received some good news today in the form of their approval rating jumping 5 points from 39% to 44%, the highest it’s been in a year. Experts believe that the jump is due to the falling gas prices, Bush’s new promises to boost support for troops in Iraq and Republicans pushing their new image plan of showing that they are more competent than their liberal counter parts. Other figures revealed by the latest poll (conducted Sept 15-17) was that the country is evenly split 49-49 on if the Iraq war was a mistake. The last time the country did not give a negative majority answer to that question was December 2005.
