Bitten by a monkey "An ape found near Paris might have died of rabies and anyone who has recently been bitten or scratched by a monkey in the region should seek medical care, health authorities said on Friday." Maybe it is just me, but if I have to check the wires every day to see if the exotic animal that bit, scratched or clawed me is carrying a potentially fatal disease...I might be in the wrong area. How exactly does that work when the locals get home? "Hey, hon, how was your day?" "Pretty good. I avoided the claws of the tiger and the bite of the rattlesnake. Joe's python gave my foot a squeeze for a moment, but my shoe came loose before I got hurt." "Okay, let me check the wires...no, no skin disase on local pythons. Another good day." "How about you?" "Oh, the usual. Got bit by a monkey." "Well, we better get you to the hospital then! We would have been fine in Belgium or if you were bitten a week ago, but today that means trouble!"
