New York City may ban 'hazardous' trans fats

Oh, dear lord, it's as if there wasn’t enough for politicians to stick their grubby little mitts into, in an attempt to prove to their constituents that they are “doing something”.

Here in Texas, grocery stores cannot sell wine on a Sunday before noon, and no fortified spirits like sherry at all on a Sunday at all. I have no idea why they felt obliged to do this at all, other than the fact that everyone involved must have felt terrifically gratified afterwards about having inconvenienced the last-minute gourmet who wants to fix coq-au-vin for an early Sunday supper.
