Another Change In The Shape-Shifting Duke University Alleged Sex Assault?

According to an Associated Press report "three Duke lacrosse players took five to ten minutes to rape and sexually assault a woman hired to perform as a stripper at a team party, and not the 30 minutes she originally described to investigators, a prosecutor said Friday."

Interestingly, Fox News reports that "Superior Court Judge W. Osmond Smith III denied a defense request that prosecutors provide a detailed accounting of the alleged assault, including the exact time, place and type of sexual act the accuser said each defendant committed."

This, although a lawyer of one of the accused points out, as reported in Forbes, "the defense needed the "bill of particulars" because the accuser has told several different versions of the alleged assault, and his client has a right to know which version prosecutors will present at trial." Furthermore, his particular client has detailed proof of his whereabouts at specific times.

Indulging in ugly behavior is what got each and every party involved in the alleged sex assault where they are today. If parents trained their sons that renting women was wrong and their daughters that allowing themselves to be rented was trashy and potentially dangerous, this whole low class and vulgar spectacle would not be taking place. Will anything be learned from the whole sordid affair? That remains to be seen.
