Another book, another embarassment for Bush In his forthcoming book "State of Denial", Bob discloses that the White House ignored an urgent warning in September 2003 from a top Iraq adviser who said that thousands of additional American troops were desperately needed to quell the insurgency there. The book promises to present an inside look into the dissensions amongst the White House officials on Iraq war. Known for his access to high-level officials, Woodward said President Bush is so sure of success in the Iraq war that he told some leading Republicans, "I will not withdraw even if Laura and Barney (their Scottish terrier) are the only ones supporting me." The excitement for the book release is bound to grow especially due to the fact that the reporting by Woodward and Carl Bernstein on the Watergate scandal helped bring down the Nixon administration and earned the Washington Post a Pulitzer Prize.
