TAPS FOR STRIP TEASE FUNERALS IN CHINA I think I missed this news article when I was suffering a vengeful course of shellfish. I am a little batter now that I have downed a course of Chinese herbal medicine. It tastes a lot like Mentholatum smells. The good new there is that it does work to settle your stomach and clears your sinuses as well. But, I digress... In Taiwan and Mainland China there is a superstition that lots of people at a funeral equals more honor for the deceased. So, some families with a few extra Yuan buy different kinds of entertainment like bands, dancers, and uh, strippers. A Chinese man sent-off last week must be honored to know that 200 attended his funeral before the cops arrested 5 strippers and the funeral organizers for giving an "obscene performance". China's Xinhua news said that strip tease funerals were once very common in Jiangsu Province, but now village officials must submit plans for funerals within 12 hours after a villager dies. And residents can report "funeral misdeeds" on a hot-line, the report said. That's going to make it hard to keep a lid on things, if it wasn't already....
