Germany to Syria: Will you be good if we pay you? It seems that the EU is Syria’s biggest trading partner (40 percent of its trade goes to Europe) and Syria has never made a secret of its interest in duty-free access to the EU market. Germany seems prepared to offer Syria certain “incentives” in order to woo the country away from Iran (a hopeless Heavy Metal fan) and help find a diplomatic solution to the Middle East crises, see?
