Germans even more unhappy with government than usual

In a recent and anything but newsworthy survey conducted by Der Spiegel, dissatisfied German poll takers were anything but surprised to discover that a growing number of their crabby countrymen are growing increasingly annoyed with their disgruntled and bitchy and anything but “grand” governing coalition. A sulky Chancellor Angela Merkel somehow managed to remain “relatively” popular but couldn’t really give a damn thank you and is obviously fed up and not taking any calls right now.

The senseless, faultfinding survey determined that only 21% of the moaning malcontents asked were “satisfied” with the work of their querulous and griping, left-right (or right-left - take your pick it’s both) and ever-so-grumpy government. This was down from 32% in a similarly jaundiced and disappointing mid-May poll.

A plaintive handful of sniveling, so-called experts attribute this frustrating drop in “popularity” to the recent tax hikes and a much-criticized, grudging compromise on health insurance reform that exposed the tensions between the ever-complaining and discontent coalition partners. All of this vexation now seems to be stretching a grumbling German population’s patience but everybody knows that this doesn’t really matter because it is bekanntlich (a well-known fact) that it is infinite.
