Fox News journalists freed, but may have a touch of Stockholm Syndrome

Good news! The two Fox News journalists, Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig, have been released by their terrorist kidnappers. The bad news is that it may have been a propaganda victory of sorts for the terrorists.

While on a forced respite from their normal occupational duties, Centanni and Wiig apparently converted to Islam. Surprise! And what a feather in the cap for the Holy Jihad Brigades, the organization that performed the intervention and saved the two infidel reporters from a life of spiritual barrenness.

If you can convert to Islam a right-wing propagandist mouthpiece for the Bush/Cheney/Halliburton/Zionist cabal (which, by definition, is basically what all Fox reporters are), then anything is possible for the world's one true religion.

Okay, granted, they were forced at gunpoint to convert, so it was meaningless. But strangely, soon after release, Centanni began publicly praising the Palestinian people faster than you can say "Stockholm Syndrome."

"We were forced to convert to Islam at gunpoint, and don't get me wrong here, I have the highest respect for Islam, and learned a lot of very good things about it. . . .

"I hope that this never scares a single journalist away from coming to Gaza to cover the story because the Palestinian people are very beautiful and kind-hearted. The world needs to know more about them. Don't be discouraged."

He "learned a lot of very good things?" The Palestinian people are "beautiful and kind-hearted?" "The world needs to know more about them?"

Speaking for myself, I already know all I need to know and "beautiful and kind-hearted" don't come to mind. What does come to mind is Jew-hating, death-worshipping, martyr-loving and terror-condoning.

The world already knows the story. Israel unconditionally pulled out of Gaza almost a year ago. Instead of then getting busy and trying to build a decent civil society, the Palestinians commenced to firing rockets into Israel and shortly thereafter electorally selected members of the terrorist group Hamas to be their leaders. Hamas, of course, doesn't recognize Israel's right to exist.

So much for "beautiful and kind-hearted."

I don't want to use the word "brainwashed," but it doesn't seem quite right to come out of a two-week kidnapping ordeal saying things like the following: "My biggest concern really is that as a result of what happened to us, foreign journalists will be discouraged from coming to tell the story and that would be a great tragedy for the people of Palestine."

Again, we already know the story. The real "tragedy for the people of Palestine" is that they hate Israel more than they love themselves, their own children or life itself. Wall-to-wall journalists in Gaza and nonstop gunpoint conversions won't change that sad and pathetic fact. Fox News may want to consider getting these two journalists deprogrammed.
