Chinese Ambassador tells US to shut up  Students were visiting me when one of my oldest friends from America, only here for a week, asked what PRC stood for. Of course, being a victim of congenital smart-ass syndrome (CSS), I had to ask him if he meant ideologically or by initials. Paul, my buddy of 25 years, is a gifted professional athlete, but a poster child for average Americans. I use Paul to gauge the median view of all things Chinese. I went on to explain that the PRC was the People's Republic of China and not to be confused with the ROC which was the Republic of China. My tiny Army of visiting students all rose up from their chairs and made it clear that they viewed Taiwan as a Province of China, not an independent Republic. They could not articulate why they felt as they did, but they were passionate in opposition. Tim Johnson, at China Rises, has a great post on China's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Sha Zukang. He links you to a recorded interview with Sha Zhukang that clearly spells out the intentions of an emboldened Chinese leadership. He flips a verbal bird to the US showing more confidence than Bruce Lee did in the showdown with Chuck Norris in Return of the Dragon.
