Important Pro-Life Legislation This bill is extremely important because it will not allow minors to be transported across state lines for an abortion by anyone other than a parent. It will keep child predators and others from bypassing state parental notification laws. When I was in high school, our sociology teacher was known for taking young girls to get abortions without their parents' knowledge. So I know first-hand that this happens. There are two different amendments that those opposed to the bill are trying to have passed: ~The Feinstein Amendment would allow a minor girl of any age to be transported across state lines, without parental knowledge, by any "grandparent" or by any "member of the clergy." So, anyone who is "clergy" (and that includes those who do a five-minute ordination online as well as abusive cult-leader pedophiles) can bypass this law. This is NOT protecting our children! ~The Boxer Amendment would say that the bill would not apply at all to any minor who has an abortion as "a result of a pregnancy caused by an act of incest." So if a brother rapes his sister, under the Boxer amendment, he is a fit guardian to transport his victim to have an abortion across state lines. Think about it. If a 25-year-old man impregnates a 14-year-old girl, do we really want to make it easy for him to take that minor across state lines for an abortion to cover up his pedophilia?
