Federer, Nadal Reach Men's Wimbledon Finals By VOA Sports 07 July 2006 The world's top two men's tennis players - Roger Federer of Switzerland and Rafael Nadal of Spain - have reached the final of the Wimbledon tennis championships in London. After a two-hour rain delay, Federer gave up only four games on his way to beating Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden, 6-2, 6-0, 6-2. The match lasted just 77 minutes and put Federer one win away from his fourth straight Wimbledon title. Rafael Nadal reached his first Wimbledon final when he scored a straight-set win over Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus (6-1, 7-5, 6-3). Nadal and Federer are fast becoming arch rivals - the 20-year-old Spaniard has beaten Federer in four finals this year, including the French Open. Nadal has a 6-1 career advantage over the Swiss player. The women's final is Saturday with world number one player Amelie Mauresmo of France taking on French Open winner Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium. The two players have met nine times before with Henin-Hardenne winning five of the matches. This story originally ran at VOANews.com This story was originally posted here.
