Wikipedia has one or more articles about 2006 Israel-Lebanon crisis.Israeli helicopters continued to bomb Beirut's southern suburbs on the fifth day of the offensive on Lebanon. The airstrikes killed 35 people on this day, including 15 children. Israel has stated that it aims to not only secure the release of the two soldiers they claim were kidnapped, but also to destroy Hezbollah's ability to fire rockets at Israel. Air strikes early this morning damaged a flyover linking the southern suburb with the eastern part of Beirut. Hezbollah continues to shell Israel across the north, 8 civilians killed in Haifa, over 40 wounded as the bombings continue.
