CHINESE HOT DOGS AND MENG THE MERCILESS Not only are they still eating dog in some parts of China, but it is so popular that you can bribe people with it: Reuters has a great story on Yahoo about "Meng The Merciless" Moron in Beijing: A Chinese headmaster, who sold off 1,000 trees from the school arboretum. How do you do this without getting busted? Are these like tiny Bonsai/Penjing trees? Reminds me of my mom sneaking our chihuahua into motels in her handbag. Don't ask.... He then tried to silence the colleagues who knew by cooking dog meat for them and "...on the afternoon of May 16, headmaster Meng got friends to obtain two dogs, which they proceeded to kill on the school grounds," Reuters reported."He then told the teachers they would have dog meat to eat that afternoon..." Ummmm! What an incentive! But, this Peter Principal principal ended up setting fire to classrooms when the meal burst into flames. Ten classrooms complete with televisions, computers, printers and textbooks burned down. ![]() The local education bureau fined the headmaster 10,000 yuan ($1,252) and suggested he be fired. Suggested? I would make him eat what was left of the puppy chow in front of the kids if I was not afraid he had diced one of their pets.
