Chinese arrest German journalist for asking the right questions Blume was promptly arrested for conducting these “illegal interviews” and government officials demanded that he hand over his notes and the film material he had collected. In an even more audacious and unprecedented step, Blume then refused to do so. And not only that, this guy has had run-ins with the Chinese before. He obviously doesn’t get it. After all, the Chinese government is obviously only doing this for his own good. You see a Chinese civil rights activist who recently spoke to Germany’s Channel 1 (ARD) about this very project was beaten up for having done so by “unknown assailants” and is now a quadriplegic. Crime can sometimes run wild at certain times and specific locations in totalitarian states it seems. After promising to leave the area and stop conducting these interviews, Blume was then allowed to go. I sure hope that this brave dummy finally gets it this time. Not.
