Taranto and bias against whites

Good to see that Taranto reproduced a point I made on Majority Rights about political correctness. It gives my thinking a much wider readership than usual.

I reproduce below what appeared on MR plus a further comment.

More educational corruption

I am a great fan of the WSJ's Taranto but for once he seems to have slipped up. He notes that Boston area High School valedictorians are highly likely to be overseas-born and concludes from that that native-born Americans are dumber. I had a look at the list of valedictorains myself and saw something MUCH more striking than the percentage born overseas: There was not a single WASP among them! With only two or three exceptions, they were all black, Hispanic or Asian. Getting to be a valedictorian might once have had something to do with academic ability but these days it is obviously political correctness that is the key consideration. I have no doubt that various politically correct policies -- such as busing -- have driven most whites out of the Boston area but not being able to find a single WASP valedictorian seems very suspect.

QUOTE BY TARANTO IN THE WALL ST JOURNAL

Taranto quoted (reasonably accurately) the comment above today. As a psychometrician (academic specialist in measuring psychological variables) I am well aware that blacks ON AVERAGE score much lower than whites on IQ -- so to have blacks systematically outperforming whites on anything academic does indeed in my view indicate the workings of political bias.

I teach in a port of entry college, Brooklyn College, CUNY, and believe me absolutely brilliant students come from all continents (but Antartica).
Most likely those with the get up and go to come here are likely to include some pretty brilliant ones. Don't feel oppressed at being second best. Your ancestors presumably followed the same root. Ed Kent
