Police State Reintroduced in Germany Over 300 police officers from 13 European countries will be helping tens of thousands of German police and Bundeswehr forces keep order during the World Cup starting, gulp, tomorrow. Patrolling jointly, in plain clothes and home government issues, this international coalition of the willing will be on the lookout for forces attempting to disrupt Germany’s fledgling democracy, oops, I mean Germany’s perfectly planned and unbelievably orderly World Cup tournament. Hooligans, the European term for insurgents, are rumoured to be coming over the border from neighbouring countries like Syria, I mean Poland and are believed to have even found active support among the native hooligan population. A large segment of the “regular volk” German population also believes that this international police force is only making matters worse and that it is high time for it to leave their country now, before the World Cup ever even gets a chance to begin. “These Eurocops only came here for the oil,” said one drunken Fußball fan. “I mean sure, Europe is slowly growing together and all that crap but are we still gonna have the chuckles about these guys once it’s over and Germany is WORLD CHAMPION? Yoouuuuhooo! Damn right we will! But they should leave now anyway.” The German government is beginning to waver, as usual, but most observers believe that they simply won’t have the time to vacillate, uh, in time and send the Eurocops back home. Besides, most lawmakers are unavailable for comment or much of anything else these days as they are all at home jumping up and down for joy, polishing their VIP tickets for the coming days’ matches.
