ENGLISH TEACHING JOBS IN CHINA Twenty teachers are needed in Guangzhou, China to teach English as a Second Language. There is no fee involved in these placements. The requirements are listed below. Those who do not meet the minimum qualifications may opt to attend course work to begin in August 2006 in Guangzhou, China. There is a charge for these services contingent on the program and options selected. The new, expatriate run program, has been initiated in Guangzhou, China to ensure quality teachers for licensed schools and to act as a liaison for incoming expatriates in order to find them placement at the best possible licensed schools. The Expat Service Center (ESC), in conjunction with one of Guangzhou's oldest and most respected private training centers, will provide quality classes and cultural education for those who need more experience or English as A Second Language Certification to meet minimum standards created by the Chinese Ministry of Education. ESC will: A trainer of trainers course will be offered beginning in the fall and opportunities will be available for those wishing to carry the program to other parts of China. ESC will provide 40 hours of Chinese language and cultural training by bi-lingual (English and Chinese) native Chinese speakers. Those students proficient in Chinese may opt for Japanese or French lessons taught by native speaking instructors. ALL ESC instructors have a Masters degree or above in Education, ESL or a related field and have a minimum of three years of teaching experience. ESC offers six levels of training: 1. 80 hours of ESL only training for English of Chinese speaking teachers. The course is meant to improve their classroom skills and give them guidance in the newest materials and methods available in ESL. This course is for those who have an interest in broadening their skills ,but have no need for an ESL certificate or additional cultural or language training. Designed for expatriates living in China and Chinese teachers of English. Cost is $350.00 USD 2. 160 hours of ESL only training for English or Chinese speaking teachers who desire to obtain Internationally recognized certification in ESL training. There is no additional language component with this option. The course is designed for expatriates and Chinese teachers of English in China who desire additional certification and training. Cost is $600.00 USD 3. 160 hours of all ESL training material above leading to certification, additional Chinese or other language program training (minimum 2 hours daily), a personal guide and interpreter for 4 hours a day and during outings, and all course materials. Cost plus all training is $1195.00 USD. 4. Lodging in a four-star hotel plus all training and services above. Cost is Double occupancy. Cost plus all training: $1895.00 5. Note: Additional trips to Beijing (The Great Wall, Forbidden City), Hong Kong/Macau (Tour and optional Disneyland trip), and Yunnan Province (Lijiang River, Dali) are done in rotation every Thursday Friday and Saturday.
