Ding dong, Zarqawi's dead! But he’s not looking so masterly anymore. A couple of 500-pound bombs from a U.S. military aircraft took out Zarqawi, a key “spiritual” adviser and several others who were meeting in a “safe” house. But leave it to al-Qaida to try and give the thing a positive spin. They quickly posted this statement on a website (powered by infidel technology, of course): “We want to give you the joyous news of the martyrdom of the mujahed sheik Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The death of our leaders is life for us. It will only increase our persistence in continuing holy war so that the word of God will be supreme.” Yeah, sure, right, whatever. The dirty bastard’s dead, the rest of ’em are marked men and the coalition of the willing is ready to make martyrs out of all of ‘em. As for continuing their holy war, if ever there was an ideology that was out of sync with the rest of the planet, radical Islam is it. The idea that it could possibly prevail over the rest of civilization will go down as one of history’s most colossal stupidities. Bring on your leaders, martyrdom awaits!
