Bomb Blast Kills At Least 15 in Iraq By VOA News 26 June 2006 Iraqi police say a bomb blast has killed at least 15 people and injured several others at a marketplace in Hilla, south of Baghdad. Elsewhere, U.S. military officials said an American soldier was killed in a separate attack Monday. In Moscow, Russia's foreign ministry confirmed the deaths of four embassy workers taken hostage in the Iraqi capital earlier this month. In a statement, Russian officials called on Iraq's government and multi-national forces to bring the perpetrators to justice. An Internet video was posted Sunday showing masked men shooting one of the Russian diplomats and beheading another. An al-Qaida-linked insurgent group, the Mujahedeen Shura Council, said it killed the four men to avenge alleged abuses by Russia's government. The four were abducted earlier this month in an attack that killed a fifth Russian embassy worker. Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP and Reuters.
