"Sensitive" Tune Soccer matches between England and Scotland are normally an occasion for bringing out into the open the Scottish dislike of the English. Soccer seems to be where you can express what you cannot express elsewhere. So the fact that Handel wrote his music to celebrate the crushing of a rebel Scottish army by a Royal English general has become a big issue in Scotland. The BBC (that paragon of "sensitivity") is being accused of insensitivity over their choice of the tune. The fact that the Scottish army that was defeated was a rebel one and that more Scots fought under the Royal general than fought in the rebel army is irrelevant, of course. More here.
