The overwrought reactions to The Da Vinci Code movie's imminent release just keep piling on; in fact, it's getting hard to keep up.
Here's a guy who says jews, too, should be mad at Dan Brown.
With the release of the Sony Pictures version of Dan Brown’s mega-selling “The Da Vinci Code” in two weeks, worries continue to mount among traditional Christians about both the book’s and the movie’s impact. Should non-Christians be concerned?
Yes, we should. Jews in particular need to be aware of the gift Brown has given, in all innocence, to anti-Semites.
Malaysian linguists have joined other organizations with a demand that the movie be banned in Malaysia. But the reason is not the usual one.
"For too long we have sat by and allowed language to be polluted but we have decided that enough’s enough. The Da Vinci Code should be banned because we don’t want to encourage youngsters to use ‘da’ as a lazy shorthand for ‘the’.
"We see this in rap lyrics," he claims.
"All this talk about ‘hanging out with da hoes’. You should be hanging out with THE hoes. This sort of begs the question of why someone would want to ‘hang out’ with gardening implements to begin with, but I am not here to question lifestyle choices, merely spelling, grammar and semantics."
He said the association might reconsider its protests if the filmmakers changed its name to The The Vinci Code.
"But even this is problematic because having two ‘thes’ in a row look ugly. So the film should be called The Vinci Code."
The Vatican has reiterated its call for a boycott.
Remember that character who was running around Malta a few days ago, alerting the Faithful that the book and movie were the products of the devil's hand? The local Catholic magnificoes who probably deserve at least a Nobel Peace Prize told him to pipe down, and were rewarded with the charge that they, too, are in Satan's scaly grip.
Anti-Da Vinci campaigner says there is the hand of the devil behind Curia's decision to stop the pilgrimage
Malta (di-ve news)--May 03, 2006 - 1030CEST--The Curia's decision not to endorse the protest-pilgrimage with Our Lady of Fatima in reaction to the release of "The Da Vinci Code" irked the Anti-Da Vinci campaigner Vince Marshall.
In his website, Mr.Marshall wrote that he is suspecting the hand of the devil is behind the decision of the Curia.
"After three months of restless work and sacrifices, forking out personal money, Satan used the Curia to dismantle all the work done", he said.
He increased the dose, by saying "I can only heed the message by Our Lady of Fatima that Satan would enter into "My Son's Church.". I cannot say that Satan has not entered [into the Maltese Curia]".
No way will the movie match the show these jokers are putting-on.
