May 29, 2006

A roadside bomb in the Iraq capital Baghdad has killed four people, including two journalists working for television network CBS. The two journalists, cameraman Paul Douglas and soundman James Brolan, both British, were embedded with the American 4th Infantry Division and were on a routine patrol when a nearby car packed with explosives was detonated. A US army officer and an Iraqi interpreter were also killed. CBS correspondant Kimberly Dozier, who the journalists were working with, was seriously injured and was flown to a U.S. military hospital to receive surgery.

CBS President Sean McManus said it was "a devastating loss".
