I have been asked recently why the big fuss over one little blog site that promotes "man-boy love"? Well, here's my answer. It's not just one site.

Last week, C-Span did the world a favor by airing their top notch, most excellent hearings on Child Exploitation and the Internet. If you missed the hearings, I want to urge you to listen online while the shows are still available. You may also want to call C-Span and ask them to reair the hearings. I think if enough people do that, they will.

These hearings were powerful, and not just because of the testimony of Justin Berry the victim of these child predators. The hearings were powerful because we got to see the heroes of our nation that rarely if ever get thanked publically for all that they are doing. I will be highlighting some of them in future posts.

Right now I want you to think about some of the statistics that were brought to the attention of lawmakers and our public. And if these don't get you motivated to care about kids, then I'm not sure what will.

Did you know....?

1 in 5 children report receiving a sexual explication on the Internet

Over 3.5 million images of pornographic images of American children alone

$20 billion was made in 2004 for sex traffickers

Do you care that...?

Over 90% of arrested pornographers possess images of children under age 12

40% have pictures or videos of children under the age of 6

Almost 20% have molested children under 3 years old

Did you know that...?

80% of all child porn is produced by parents, friends or other family members (Center for missing and exploited children)

Or how about this...?

86% of children who have been exploited sexually will have long term effects such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Children who have been exploited online also exhibit paranoia due to the fact that the images and conversations can be found online.

Did you know that predators do not care about your child? They see your child as a commodity. They collect pictures of children like baseball cards.

They do not care about your precious babies, and they do not care about you either.

Now that you know this, what are you going to do about it?
