Colorado high school geography teacher gets nailed for left-wing political rants People say the darnedest things, don't they? And some of them are teachers charged with educating our children. And some of them say the darnedest things in classrooms where they have captive audiences and without any opposing viewpoints being expressed. And every once in a while they get caught and put on suspension while their actions are investigated. Jay Bennish, a Bush- and capitalism-hating high school teacher in Denver, has been absolutely nailed by a sneaky student with a tape recorder who apparently had had enough of his left-wing diatribes and felt like the guy needed outing. If you want to hear it, go here. Michelle Malkin has transcribed it here. Among the many pearls of wisdom imparted to his hapless students: "Who is probably the single most violent nation on planet Earth? The United States of America!" "There are dozens upon dozens of countries that have weapons of mass destruction . . . There are plenty of countries . . . where people have no freedom . . . and they could be potentially threatening to America. We're not invading any of those countries!" "Who has the most weapons of mass destruction in the world? The United States. Who's continuing to develop new weapons of mass destruction as we speak? The United States." "Do you see how this economic system [capitalism] is at odds with humanity? At odds with caring and compassion? It's at odds with human rights." But this has to be my favorite: "Why are we fumigating coca crops in Bolivia and Peru if we're not trying to control other parts of the world? Who buys cocaine? Not Bolivians. Not Peruvians. Americans! Okay. Why are we destroying the farmers' lives when we're the ones that consume that good? "What drug is responsible for the most deaths in the world? Cigarettes! Who is the world's largest producer of cigarettes and tobacco? The United States! "Now if we have the right to fly to Bolivia or Peru and drop chemical weapons on top of farmers' fields because . . . they might be growing coca that could be turned into cocaine and sold to us, well then, don't the Peruvians and the Iranians and the Chinese have the right to invade America and drop chemical weapons over North Carolina to destroy the tobacco plants that are killing millions and millions of people in their countries . . . ?" It's too bad none of his students had either the temerity and/or the analytical skills to destroy his harebrained argument simply by explaining that tobacco is legal, whereas cocaine is not, and that if we are fumigating crops in certain South American countries, we're doing it with their permission and therefore, Peru, Iran and China do NOT have the right to bomb North Carolina. If you thought that such gonzo radicals were only brainwashing kids at the college level, think again. But at least it looks like these particular political indoctrination sessions may be over. If you weren't convinced of the need to pull our children out of the state school's of indoctrination this should do it.
Maybe we should put all the liberals in camps, and confiscate their property for being so unAmerican. Better yet, while they are in what we could call Patriot Camps, we could re-educate them to think correctly and Conservatively about things. Meanwhile, they could work off the labor between their political classes.
I am SO glad I do not have kids in school today! Also, I listened to most of it, and I was wondering what part in the teachers diatribe was ABOUT GEOGRAPHY?? OH, I guess you could say he pointed out that North Carolina grows tobacco (and that is why China shoud bomb N.C.)
Heaven forbid, he asked he students to think, shame on him.
