Nettle Put The Kettle On. Her performance in the Senate this week during the debate on the on the abortion drug RU 486 where she wore a T shirt emblazoned with the words "get your rosaries off my ovaries" displayed an anti-Catholic bigotry more at home in the shipyards of Belfast than the Parliament of Australia. Nettle, who attended Sydney's Presbyterian Ladies College, describes herself as an activist. In essence she's better described as merely another mediocre leftist loudmouth. Along with Greens leader, Bob Brown, she had to be ejected from the Parliament and suspended for 24 hours after constantly interjecting during a speech by U.S. President, George Bush in October 2003. By reputation she is the most left-wing member of the Australian Parliament as well as the most immature. A former university peer of Nettle's had this to say about her on Wikpedia: "She was also known for losing every student election she stood for (where there was another candidate). Generally speaking, even her best friends entrusted her with nothing more than making the tea." No wonder she joined The Greens. There must have been a lack of quality opposition during pre-selection. Nettle's story is inspirational for some, though. Are you long-term unemployed? Join The Greens and get elected. The superannuation package is excellent. Blogger News Network is advertiser-supported, and your visits to our advertisers help BNN to meet its expenses.
