The Mohammed cartoons ![]() I am sure all readers here have heard about Europe's cartoon uproar by now. Without much support from other governments, the Danish government has been defending the right to free speech in Denmark. That right is under attack because a Danish newspaper printed cartoons about Mohammed. As a result, Muslims have of course started putting pressure on Denmark -- including calls for a boycott of Danish goods and services (Since a major Danish export is ham and bacon, that has its amusing side). So it is encouraging that quite a few European newspapers have now defied Muslim hysteria and reprinted the cartoons. Even the BBC has broadcast glimpses of them. Maybe Europeans are finally getting fed up with the constant demands for special treatment by Muslims. An unusually feisty British reader writes: "What is vastly more offensive than any cartoon could ever be, is:- And, of course, BUY DANISH goods if you see them anywhere. There is an unusually sensible Muslim comment here. One of the cartoons concerned is reproduced above and they are all here -- where it rightly comments: "These cartoons are much less offensive than what is routinely printed in every American newspaper about presidents, presidential candidates, and other pols". The media has provoked the Muslim reaction over the world. The article written by yourself shows sheer ignorance and arrogance towards there faith and beliefs. Freedom of speech is not only for people living in the west its for the world, people from the Muslim faith demonstrated there’s. It is clear that you respect and take into consideration there feelings. As far as your article title 'Stupid cartoons and stupider reaction' - definitely out of order! The paper and writer have illustrated non professionalism and this clearly states your personal opinion towards the faith/religion. I suggest you read up on Islam - for a insight of the beautiful peace keeping religion OR take out your personal grudge at the gym - may I ad.. in a work out class! ..instead of spreading offensive articles, cartoons, images etc. You should practice what you preach and yes! getting your facts right would be the first step you take.. this would be beneficial for you and your company. Please do not offend others for the meanful purpose of something you are totally 'clueless and heartfelt off'. Spread peace, keep peace, learn to maintain peace... don't get feisty if your article didn’t make it to the top 10, (well maybe it did! with wrong means!) .. have cognisant. Thank you for taking time out to read this comment... maybe it will take you away from denial/ and anger you are feeling because of the something nasty you wanted to spread and start off. Its WRONG at the end of the day to use ideology. take care
You posted the picture with Mohammed and a bomb. I like best the picture with a man crying: stop, we are out of virgins.
