Islamists Schedule More Protests - When Will Europe Say "Enough!"? Vital Perspective warns of another huge protest, the 5th in three weeks, which will be staged in London on February 18th. The Muslim Action Committee assures everyone that they will "do what they can" to minimize the ugliness of last week's "spontaneous" riots against the Danish cartoons. But with nine more days to prepare for their big showdown, what power does the MAC really have to temper the fury of their hordes? Don't ignore the fact that the violence and fury has been deliberately manufactured and stoked by Islamist political and religious leaders. This. Is. What. They. Want. Bear in mind that the British doggedly endure these protests, though they've done nothing worthy of protest. The Muslim immigrants enjoy the peace and safety and prosperity of Britain and have nothing to complain about - yet their riots have been the ugliest in terms of hate-filled rhetoric and terrorist threats. Surely you remember these lovely gestures. So far, the Muslims haven't tried rioting in America...come to think of it, they haven't rioted in Australia, either. Most likely for the same reasons - the citizens in both countries are armed. But, not so in Europe. There is nothing but political "discourse" to persuade Muslims that continued rioting is ineffectual and counter-productive to their assimilation into the cultures that are so graciously hosting them. (A policy of appeasement and diplomacy has already failed in France.) During the coming protest in London on February 19th, must the British silently endure - stiff upper lip, old chap - while watching their political leaders throw rhetoric around, placating a violent minority for the acts of free citizens in other sovereign nations? How will Great Britain handle the test of a free society in the face of militant intimidation? One day, years from now, as archaeologists sift through the ruins of an ancient civilization for clues to its downfall, they'll marvel at how easy it all was. You don't need to fly jets into skyscrapers and kill thousands of people. As a matter of fact, that's a bad strategy, because even the wimpiest state will feel obliged to respond. But if you frame the issue in terms of multicultural "sensitivity," the wimp state will bend over backward to give you everything you want -- including, eventually, the keys to those skyscrapers. Thus, Jack Straw, the British foreign secretary, hailed the "sensitivity" of Fleet Street in not reprinting the offending cartoons. Meanwhile, it's only been half a year since British citizens were attacked and innocent people killed in the name of Islam. How much and how soon are the British people supposed to forgive and forget? How long will ordinary citizens be harangued with demands, threatened with violence, inconvenienced with random destruction, promised a 9/11, scorned for their liberties, and mocked for their traditions - all by guests in their own front yard - before they've had enough? Do the citizens of Europe have any recourse at all? Unarmed and helpless, they cannot protect themselves or their own property, and their law enforcement is hamstrung by the politicking of diplomacy instead of justice. Even their militaries stand impotent in the face of traditional acts of war such as attacks on sovereign embassies and citizens with diplomatic immunity. Why on earth does the Arab street get a free pass? There is no accountability whatsoever! Let's take a look down the long stretch...just what is it that the Islamists hope to accomplish with their seething multitudes thronging the cobblestone streets of Europe? What exactly do they want? Well, they've aired a score of grievances and have an ever-increasing smorgasbord of demands. Here's just a few, from least to greatest: Cartoons aside, this is no small matter - it is part of an epic clash between the free democracies of western culture and Islamicization: Laying the groundwork for such radicalization is the seductive idea of political Islam, which preaches a Utopian view of society where all citizens are part of a just and fair "umma," or community of Muslims. In this world, the separation of religion and politics is heretical, and Europe's Muslims -- now representing between 5 percent and 10 percent of the continent's population -- need to be walled off from Western culture. So, while the battle over the infrastructure of terrorism winds down in the Middle East, European Muslims perversely ready themselves to fight against the very democratic freedoms newly established in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is now a parallel battle forming in Europe of conflicting ideologies that will go far in defining the diaspora of Muslim communities around the world and their place in modern culture. Ironically, in their efforts toward self-governance by sharia law, the Muslims of Europe wield the same freedoms they scorn and wish to rid themselves of. And the Muslim Action Committe hopes to control their masses by merely not allowing rude placards? I think they need to be more worried about explosives than signage! And all of this...is to what end? The Islamists are savvily stoking the violence of the crowds - they are not out swarming in the streets for no apparent reason. It is part of a coordinated strategy to further the Islamist agenda. Will these protests go on for weeks, like the so-called "youth riots" in France - and then dissipate into lassitude...when there are no more cars to ignite? Will the platitudes of the politicians be enough to appease the Muslims, and will the citizens be satisfied with such a galling solution? The European way of life is now hostage to a radical minority - how long will they stand for that? In this high-stakes game of chicken, who will yield first? The protests cannot go on interminably without something happening. How can this situation not lead, eventually, to war? If cartoons can inflame the hatreds of Muslims to the point that they are baying for blood, it is only a matter of time before Europeans decide that they have simply had enough of this nonsense, and that it is time to strike back.
