Holocaust cartoon contest

Get ready, Western world, because Iran is about to throw in its two cents worth to the great international Muhammad cartoon kerfuffle of 2006. Iran's largest selling newspaper has announced it will hold a contest on -- are you ready? -- Holocaust cartoons. Get this. The deviously clever plan is to turn the tables on the West.

Farid Mortazavi, editor of Hamshari newspaper in Teheran, explained: "The Western papers printed these sacrilegious cartoons on the pretext of freedom of expression, so let’s see if they mean what they say and also print these Holocaust cartoons.”

Boy, what'll these guys think of next? When it comes to living in a cartoonish fantasyland, few do it better than the Iranian mullahs and their hand puppet, state-controlled newspaper editors. This plan to show up the West is as fiendishly clever as anything Wile E. Coyote himself ever cooked up.

But if you’ll recall, every plan the coyote ever laid out ended up backfiring on himself. Likewise, this Holocaust cartoon contest will accomplish absolutely nothing other than making Iran look even more wacked out and despicable than it already does, which is no small task.

Here’s a newsflash for the editors down at the Daily Islamic Fascist in Teheran: Of course some Western papers will publish your Holocaust cartoons. They have no qualms about offending Jews or any religions other than Islam. In fact, ordinarily, Islam would be the last religion they would seek to blatantly offend because of the near religious strictures of multiculturalism, which for some perverse reason puts every culture and religion on a pedestal except those of the West. Go figure.

Anyway, the Danish cartoons were a fluke, but even if they weren’t, get over it already.
